Merry Christmas

a Day in Bethlehem

Every year, our church puts on "A Day in Bethlehem"  Volunteers are dressed in costumes, and there are TONS of fun activities for the kiddos to partake in.  There is always a stable scene, where Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus wait.  Every year a different church family gets the honors of being the "holy family".  Sometimes there is a "baby doll" baby Jesus, and every few years a real baby represents our baby Messiah.  This year, Noah was asked to be Baby Jesus; which meant Dan and I got to dress up as Mary and Joseph.  It was funny the comments that we heard as people visited the "stable" A lot of visitors said, "oh, it's a real baby", or "oh, what a cute baby Jesus", but then there were those questions/or comments that left me thinking "really?"  My favorites were, "oh, you borrowed a baby to be Baby Jesus!" and "oh, you make the perfect Mary and Joseph, right down to the skin tones"  We enjoyed being Mary and Joseph but 3 hours is a long time.  Our older kids didn't miss out on the fun though, because thanks to great friends they were looked after and taken around to the crafts and activities.  Oh, I almost forgot...this year there were live animals, so right outside where "Baby Jesus lay", was a display of stable animals.  There was a camel, a donkey, a goat, a sheep and the highlight of them all was the 2 week old baby lamb.  Here are a few pictures to enjoy...

I'm a bit nostalgic...and feeling so blessed...

So, today I decided to look back at old pictures. Specifically I was looking at pictures of each kid at Noah's age now--3 months old. What did I find??

I found 4 very cute babies at 3 months old
I found 4 very unique looking babies, yet the resemblance is unmistakable
I found that my two middle kids look alike, and my oldest and youngest look alike
I found that I don't have very many "pro" quality photos of my oldest son :(
I found that I'm a lucky and blessed momma/girl. Why?
I am blessed with 4 super cute kids
I have wonderful friends who gifted me wonderful photos of my kids before I took up photography
I have lots of things to look forward to with these munchkins...and while it's LOTS of work now, I will relish in looking back at the memories we are making now, and indulge in each moment that I spend with them now and as they grow up.

Hard to remember when it was just the three of us.

It's fun to see, but I love being a family of 6!  These two little collages were so much fun to put together.  Here are our 4 little monkeys, all at the grand age of 3 months!

I'm a bit biased in my answer, but "yes, he gets cuter and cuter by the day!"
