Happy Mother's Day...
It is 11pm and Mother's Day is almost over...the days just come and go, in a blink of an eye, it seems. I had a wonderful mother's day!! I'm a blessed with a wonderful husband, and three beautiful children. God is good. We woke up this morning to my cell phone ringing...it was my little brother calling to wish me a happy mother's day. Having just come out of deep sleep, and thinking that it was about 6am, I told him that I would call him back as soon as we were up. I hung up the phone, and then looked at the clock, only to find out it was 8am!! WOW!! What a wonderful way to wake up on Mother's Day...I got to SLEEP IN!! In fact, we ALL slept in. Another wonderful way to wake up on Mother's day...ALL 5 of us were snuggled in our bed. Oliver was snuggled up on one side of me, Joshua on the other side, then Daddy, and Katherine snuggled next to daddy! It was amazing, and so refreshing!
The kids gave me plants for mother's day...I hope they are hearty plants because I'm not much of a green thumb. I got a bromeliad from my little princess, and some perennials from my little man Joshua. I got lots of sleep from my tiny little guy, who only woke up twice last night, and slept in to 8am this am! Oh....something else that the boys gave to me and Katherine--a spa day!! It should be fun!
We decided to skip church, as everyone but Oliver and I woke up with runny noses....but did venture out to do a nice early mother's day lunch! We had yummy fish and even splurged on a dessert! When we got home, I watched my little man (Joshua) hit golf balls in our front yard. Amazing how coordinated that boy is!! He was driving those balls!! Funny though how he would get frustrated with himself when he missed the ball, or didn't hit it far enough! We walked/biked around the block; had a nice quiet afternoon of napping, and then enjoyed a quiet evening watching a movie and eating popcorn with the kids (all minus Oliver, who was in bed by 8:30pm). Let's hope my sleep is restful tonight as well.
Happy mother's day to all the mommies out there!! Kudos to you for all the hard work you put in each day!
